What the assistant is allowed to change

The assistant is not a way around your permissions. Whatever a person can’t do with the buttons, they can’t do by asking the chat either.

The rule

The chat follows the person, not the channel. Ask for something your account can’t do, and it says so — it never does it anyway, and never pretends it did.

How it works

  1. Someone opens the chat, in the admin or in the phone bot.
  2. The assistant works out what that person may do here, from their role plus any individual permissions you granted or removed for them.
  3. It also drops anything your venue doesn’t use — no stock tools if you don’t track stock.
  4. Only what survives both is offered. The rest isn’t hidden behind a “no” — it isn’t there at all.

So a cook who can see prices but not change them can ask “what’s the carbonara priced at?” and get an answer, then ask to drop it to ฿120 and be told that’s not something their account can change.

Good to know

  • Change someone’s permissions and the chat follows from their very next message. Nothing to re-save.
  • Owners and managers notice nothing — they could already do these things.
  • The phone bot keeps its own extra limit on top. A bot set to look-but-don’t-touch stays that way, and that setting does not shrink what the same person can do signed into the admin.
  • If your venue doesn’t use something — stock, recipes, suppliers, the till — the assistant says so plainly instead of reporting an empty result as a real answer.
  • Daily limits per tool are a phone-bot setting only.
