Drop a photo straight onto an item

Questi contenuti non sono ancora disponibili nella tua lingua.

Photographing a shelf of wine leaves you with a folder of labels and a hundred items to attach them to. Rather than opening each item, drag the picture from your desktop onto its row in Our Menu.

The rule

An item with no picture takes the dropped one as its cover. An item that already has pictures keeps the cover it has — the dropped one joins the rest.

How it works

  1. Open Our Menu and find the item. The Grid view works the same way as the list.
  2. Drag a photo from your desktop over its row. The row lights up and says Drop to add a photo.
  3. Let go. A spinner sits on the thumbnail while the picture uploads.
  4. A green line says what happened — Cover photo set, or Added to this item’s photos.

Drop several files at once and they all go on that item, one after another.

Good to know

  • Photos only. JPG, PNG, HEIC from an iPhone — all fine. A video has to go through the item’s own Photos tab, where you can see what you are attaching.
  • The cover never changes by accident. To swap it, open the item and star the picture you want.
  • Nothing is cropped. The picture is stored at full size and shrunk to fit wherever it appears.
  • A failed drop says so in amber under the item name. Click the message to dismiss it and try again.
