How fast the film scrolls

Your film does not play on its own. It moves forward as the visitor scrolls down the page. So its speed is really one thing: how much scrolling it takes to reach the end.

The rule

A long film needs more scrolling. Give it the same scrolling as a short film and it plays too fast.

How it works

  1. Open Marketing Studio → Scrolling Films and pick a film that is finished.
  2. Above the publish buttons you will see How long the scroll lasts.
  3. We set the number for you, from the length of your own film. A 10 second film gets more scrolling than a 4 second one.
  4. Move the slider to change it. The number on the right says about how many seconds of scrolling it takes.
  5. Press Go back to automatic and we set it again.

Good to know

  • The seconds are a guess. Some people scroll fast and some scroll slowly. The number tells you about how long it takes, not exactly.
  • The page stops while the film plays. That is how a scroll film works. Too much scrolling and the page feels stuck, so we stop at about 3.6 seconds.
  • A very long film reaches that limit. A film over about 15 seconds still plays a little fast. Make it shorter if you want it slower.
  • One setting covers both places the film can go: the dish page and your home page.
  • Changing this is free, and you can change it as many times as you like.
