Competitor ads — what they are paying to push

Questi contenuti non sono ancora disponibili nella tua lingua.

Everything else about a competitor is what they chose to say for free. Their ads are what they put money behind.

The rule

An ad that keeps running is working for them. Nobody keeps paying for one that is not.

How it works

Open Marketing Studio → Competitors → a competitor → Meta ads.

The ads sit in a grid, three across on a computer and one on a phone. Each card shows the ad the shape they made it. A tall story ad is tall. A wide ad is wide. Nothing is cut off.

One card per ad: the picture, the words, and where it sends people. Two numbers matter most:

  1. How long it has been running. 47 days means they paid for it every day for 47 days.
  2. How many versions they made. Ten versions means real money behind it. One version is a small test.

If the ad has more than one picture, press the arrows to see them all. The other pictures often hold the menu and the price. If the ad is a video, press play and watch it.

If the ad is in a language you do not read, press Translate. Press it again to go back to their words.

Ads they stopped sit lower down. One that ran three days did not work for them.

We look every day on our own, from the first time you open this tab, and you pay nothing for it. When a rival starts a new ad we tell you, in the app and on Telegram. Press Check now for a fresh look yourself, or set how often under Settings → Your schedule → Competitor ads watch.

Check now costs more when they run more ads. A place with no ads costs 5 credits. A place with many ads costs up to 130. The button tells you before you press it.

Good to know

  • Their ads sit under their Facebook page, so add that page first. Instagram ads are there too.
  • Most restaurants run no ads at all. That is a real answer, not a problem. It is also the cheapest one to check.
  • Some places run a lot of ads. We read the first 25 and tell you when there are more. We never say an ad stopped when we did not read that far.
  • Some ads are videos. You can play them here. We keep our own copy, so it still plays in a month.
  • A video only plays if we looked at that page after 8 September 2026. Before that day we kept the cover picture and not the video. Press Check now to get it.
  • Sometimes we cannot read their page. We say so. It is not the same as “they have no ads”.
  • We only say “no ads” when we reached their page and it was empty. If we did not reach the page, we say we could not read it.
  • Some ads let Facebook fill in the words for each person. We show the words from the picture instead.
  • Facebook never tells us an ad started or stopped. We only know because we look every day. For a stopped ad we count up to the last day we saw it.
  • Facebook never says how many likes or comments an ad got. Nobody can see that. So no card here shows one.
  • For ads shown in Europe, Facebook does say how many people saw them. When it says it, we show it. For Thailand it says nothing, so the card shows nothing.
  • We pay for the daily look. One look serves every restaurant watching that place.
