Online ordering

A guest picks dishes on your public menu and sends the order. It appears in Online Orders in your sidebar, and whoever is on the floor accepts it there. You do not need a till system for any of this.

The rule

The order arrives on your screen, not in a till. Nothing is paid online — the guest pays you at pickup or on delivery.

How it works

  1. Turn on Online ordering in Settings → Ordering & delivery. The switch reads Accepting orders when it is on, Ordering paused when it is off.
  2. Just below, under Pickup and delivery, choose whether guests collect, get delivery, or both.
  3. The guest opens your menu, taps Add to cart, and sends the order.
  4. Open Online Orders. Each order shows the guest, the dishes and the total. Move it from Pending to Acknowledged when you start cooking, and Fulfilled when it leaves.
  5. If you already use your own separate till, type the order into it yourself. The two do not talk to each other.

Where the guest goes next depends on you. With a WhatsApp number saved, they are handed to WhatsApp with the order already written out. Without one, they stay on your site and watch an order status page.

Good to know

  • Ordering is included from the Essential plan upwards. A Free venue never shows a cart.
  • Anyone with the Accept and update online orders permission can work the screen — owner, manager, shift lead, cashier and staff all have it.
  • No money moves through the order. The guest pays you at pickup or on delivery, the same as a phone order.
  • A WhatsApp number is optional. It only changes where the guest goes after ordering — the order reaches you either way.
  • Ordering by QR code at the table is a separate switch on the same settings page.
