Select many items at once — bulk move and delete

Editing a big menu one row at a time is slow. On both the menu items list and the Public Menu Categories list you can now tick a checkbox on each row and act on the whole selection at once.

The rule

Deleting is permanent, and a category is only ever deleted when it’s empty.

How it works

  1. On Menu → Items, tick the checkbox on each item you want (or the box in the header to select everything on screen).
  2. A bar appears at the bottom: Move to category or Delete.
  3. Move to category opens a picker — choose any Food or Beverage category and every selected item jumps there.
  4. Delete asks you to confirm, then removes the items for good.
  5. On Menu → Categories it works the same way, with one action: Delete empty. Categories that still hold items or subcategories are left alone and reported back so you know what to clear first.

Good to know

  • Selecting is scoped to what you see. Changing the family, filter, or search clears the selection, so an action never touches a row you can’t currently see.
  • Up to 100 at a time per action; larger selections are handled in batches automatically.
  • Moving is safe and reversible — nothing is deleted, items just change category. Deleting cannot be undone.
  • Deleting an item also removes its photos and drink-pairings; a linked point-of-sale item is simply unlinked, not deleted.
  • Only people who can edit the menu see the checkboxes.
