Bands and spacing

A page where every part looks the same reads as a list. Put a colour behind one or two parts and it reads as a page.

The rule

Colour one or two parts, never all of them. Colour every part and it looks the same as colouring none.

Open Web Pages → Homepage builder.
Open the part you want to change.
Scroll to The band this part sits on and pick one.
Change Space above and below, Where the words sit and How wide the words are if you want.
Save.

You have three choices for the band:

The page’s own colour — what every part looks like today.
A soft wash of your main colour — quiet. Good for two or three parts.
Your main colour, filled in — loud. Good for one part you want people to stop at.

Your text stays readable on any band. The page works out the text colour from your own colour, so you cannot make a part nobody can read.
Leave a setting alone and that part looks exactly as it always has.
Two coloured parts next to each other look like one big block. Put a plain part between them.
Where the words sit moves the heading of that part, left or middle. It does not move the cards under it.
Some parts start in the middle already and some start on the left. The box tells you which one you have.
How wide the words are only shows for parts that have words in a column. Your top banner runs edge to edge, so it has no width to set.
Your top banner keeps its own Alignment box, because that one moves the button too.
Your booking banner is a dark card with its own picture. It has no band. Space above and below moves the gap around the card.
The AI uses these too when it builds you a page.
