Photos on an ingredient
A list of three hundred ingredients reads faster with pictures. A cook knows the tin by sight. Every ingredient row can carry photos.
The rule
Star one photo and it becomes the picture everywhere. You can keep several photos, but only one is the face of the row.
How it works
- Open an ingredient and press the Media tab on the left.
- Drop a file, or press the box to pick one. Several at once is fine.
- PNG, JPG, WebP and HEIC all work. An iPhone photo is turned into a JPEG for you.
- A big photo is made smaller in your browser before it is sent, so it goes fast on restaurant wifi.
- The first photo you add is starred for you. To change it, hover another one and press ★ Make featured.
Good to know
- The starred photo shows on the ingredient list, on the item header, and in the bigger preview when you hover.
- Delete a photo with ✕ Delete. If you delete the starred one, the next photo is starred for you.
- There is no separate save. The photo appears on every screen as soon as it lands.
- Three brands of pancetta look the same in a list of names. They do not look the same in a list of pictures.
