Translate many dishes at once
Your menu can be in several languages. A dish added in English is empty in the others until somebody fills it. Tick the dishes and fill them together.
The rule
It fills empty languages only. Text already there is never replaced.
How it works
- On Menu → Our Menu, tick the dishes you want. The bar at the bottom shows Translate.
- A box opens and lists each language with the number of empty texts.
- Press one language to do that language only. Or leave All languages to do a bit of each.
- Press Translate them.
- One press does 100 texts. Press again for the rest.
Good to know
- It translates the dish name, the short description, the long description and the recommended note.
- Pick one language and press until it reads zero. That finishes a language faster than doing them all together.
- It only touches the dishes you ticked. Their categories and your venue text are not included.
- You pay by length. Many words cost nothing because they are already translated.
- A dish with no English text has nothing to translate from, so it is skipped.
- If translating is off for your venue, the box says so and the button stays grey. Turn it on in Settings → Languages.
- To do the whole venue at once, including categories, use Settings → Languages instead.
