Ideas — the marketing brain of the venue

Every venue has a notebook of half-finished marketing ideas, and most of them die there. This is the replacement.

The rule

Ideas walk four columns: New → Approved → In draft → Published. A card never jumps the queue, but you can always move it back.

Where ideas come from

  • The system watching you — a dish nobody’s posted about in months, a holiday next week, a gap in your posting rhythm.
  • The competitors you track — themes they’re leaning into, and gaps they’re leaving open.
  • You, whenever something comes to mind.

The four columns

  1. New — everything fresh. Approve it, Compose it now, or Dismiss it. Dismissed cards hide; Show dismissed brings them back.
  2. Approved — the “yes, we’re doing this” pile. Compose opens the composer with the idea attached.
  3. In draft — you’ve started writing. Re-open returns to the composer, Mark published closes it out.
  4. Published — your last thirty wins. Reopen if you want a follow-up.

Reading the source tags

Each card carries a chip telling you what kind of idea it is, so you can judge it in a second:

  • New dish / Stale dish — something to launch, or something forgotten
  • Holiday — a date coming up
  • Cadence gap — your posting has slowed
  • Competitor topic — a theme rivals are pushing; consider joining
  • Competitor gap / Differentiate — something nobody’s saying, or a way to stand apart

A holiday card is urgent. A stale-dish nudge can wait a day.

The two buttons at the top

Davide fronts the board with a strategy headline and four stat tiles.

  • Generate fresh ideas — the everyday one. Cheap and quick: she brainstorms from your menu, calendar and her last competitor read. Once a week is usually enough.
  • Study competitors — the deeper, pricier one. She re-analyses your rivals, rebuilds your strategy, then makes ideas off the new read. Worth it when something material changed — a new competitor, a second location, a menu overhaul.

Both show their credit price, and both show Davide working with a live checklist rather than a dead spinner.

  • Composer — where an idea goes when you click Compose
  • Competitors — the source of competitor cards
