Chat history

Every conversation the assistant had on your website, newest first. Most guests never ask to be put in touch with anyone — those chats used to be invisible, and they are the ones that tell you what people actually wanted to know.

The rule: the questions people ask a robot at midnight are the questions they were too shy to ask your staff at dinner. Read them.

How it works

  1. Open Guests → Chat history in the sidebar.
  2. Each line shows the date, the guest’s opening question and how many questions they asked. Four questions about parking is a different signal from one.
  3. Press Read it to open the whole conversation.
  4. The buttons at the top narrow the list: Asked for a person shows only the chats that ended in a contact form, Didn’t ask shows the rest.
  5. Show older chats at the bottom loads the next page.

Good to know

  • We keep what guests type for about 90 days, then remove it. Older chats stay in the list with their date and question count, but the words are gone.
  • A chat where someone opened the bubble and typed nothing never appears — there is nothing in it to read.
  • Anyone with access to the venue can read this. There is no separate permission.
  • Chats that ended in a contact form also appear in Guest requests, which is the queue for replying. This page is for reading, not for answering.
  • Three people asking about gluten in one week is a menu problem, not a chat problem. That is what this page is for.
  • You can ask the Telegram assistant “what are guests asking us”. It gives you what each guest opened with, never the rest of the conversation — and if a chat is past 90 days it says the words are gone rather than guessing. Switch What guests asked on under What it may do. See Telegram.
