What your prices include
Some venues print prices with tax already in. Others print the price and add service charge and tax at the end. Both are normal — but a guest reading your menu cannot tell which one you do. This is where you say it.
The rule
It is a sentence, not a calculation. Writing “plus 7% VAT” here changes no price and no total anywhere — it only tells guests what to expect.
How it works
- Go to Menu → Menu look.
- Find the What your prices include card.
- Tap one of the ready-made lines, or type your own — something like All prices are subject to 10% service charge and 7% VAT.
- Writing in more than one language? Press Translate empty and the other languages fill in.
- Press Save line.
The card shows you the line exactly as a guest will read it before you save.
Good to know
- Guests see it under your menu, under the price on each item page, and in the basket before they order.
- Leave it empty and nothing appears — your menu looks exactly as it does now.
- Keep it to one sentence. Long notes get cut off.
- Owners and managers can edit it.
- Each guest reads it in their own language. If you have not written their language, they see the one you wrote in — better a line they can translate than no line at all.
- It does not change any price, any total, or any bill. If you want tax actually calculated, that is a separate setting.
