Hearts on your items
Every item has a small heart next to its price. A guest taps it, the number goes up by one, and it stays up. They can tap again to take it back, but they cannot give the same item two hearts.
The rule
A heart is what a guest wants. Your till tells you what they bought. The two are different questions, and this is the first time you can ask the first one.
How it works
- A guest opens your menu. Nothing is saved and nothing is asked of them.
- They tap the heart on the carbonara. It fills in red and the count goes from 11 to 12.
- Their hearts are remembered on that phone, so next week the carbonara is still filled in for them.
- Tapping a filled heart takes it back and the count drops.
With an account, a guest’s hearts follow them between devices — and anything they liked beforehand comes along the first time they sign in.
No account is needed and there is nothing to switch on.
Good to know
- It is a read on the room, not a vote. Someone who clears their browser can like again. Treat it like nodding heads, not a ballot.
- Everyone sees the count, so an item already on 40 hearts collects them faster.
- No hearts shows a plain heart, never a zero — a “0” reads as a verdict.
- Nothing tells you who liked an item. No name, no number, no way back to a person.
- Signed-in guests see their own list under Items you liked on their account page.
- Your own report on all this is Items guests love, under Marketing Studio → Analytics.
