Members — who can sign in to your venue's admin

The Members page (Admin → Settings → Members) lists everyone who can sign in to this venue’s admin and what they’re allowed to do. It’s the trust boundary: add someone and the venue opens up to them; revoke them and they’re locked out of the till, menu, and reports.

The rule: a role is the default; an override is the exception. Give someone the closest standard role, then grant or remove individual permissions on top — don’t invent a custom role for one person.

How it works

  1. Click + Add staff and type the person’s email — for example chef@consulbangkok.com.
  2. If they already have an account, you’ll see their name and photo. If not, that’s fine too: the system creates the account on the spot and emails them an invitation with a sign-in link.
  3. Pick a role (Staff is the safe default) and confirm. Their row appears immediately — with an Invited badge if they haven’t signed in yet.
  4. They sign in with their email (magic link — no password needed) and the role is already theirs from the first second.
  5. Change roles anytime from the dropdown on their row; Customize tweaks individual permissions; Revoke removes their access to this venue only.

Good to know

  • Inviting a brand-new email just works. A row that hasn’t signed in yet shows Resend invite, which issues a fresh link and kills the old one.
  • The invite opens a “You’ve been invited” page that sets up the account in one step. Already signed in as someone else? It says so and offers a one-click sign-out.
  • One account can belong to several venues with a different role in each; revoking here doesn’t touch their other venues.
  • Members are admin logins. The PIN-only till staff live on the Roster page — a separate list that shares the same role definitions.
  • Only people with the staff-management permission (owners and managers by default) can add, change, or revoke members.
  • Roles and capabilities — what each role allows, and where custom roles are defined.
  • Audit log — membership changes are logged with actor and timestamp.
  • Telegram bot — a paired member’s bot can never exceed their member permissions.
