Cirrus — keep your till, gain the intelligence

“I can’t switch my till. Ten people are trained on it, my accountant has six years of its reports. I just want what your app does on top of what I have.” That’s exactly what this is.

The rule

Your menu is the truth; Cirrus brings the numbers. The job is attaching the right number to the right dish, never inventing a dish. And the newest upload always wins — spot a mistake, re-export, upload again.

How it works

  1. Add the connectorSettings → External POS sync → Add connector → Cirrus. Name it after the location, and pick a mode:
    • Source — Cirrus stays your till. You upload weekly so the intelligence stays current.
    • Migration — a one-time import of your history, after which you move your till here.
  2. Export from CirrusDaily Sales → Details Sales By Date, set the range, output XLSX (PDF can’t be read). Six months is the sweet spot for a first load.
  3. Upload — drag the file onto the connector card. A preview appears in seconds.
  4. Review, then Commit upload. Velocity lands on every linked dish and the dashboards update within seconds.

Reading the preview

A banner first: if a day in the range has no rows at all it says so — “Tuesday 12 May has no rows. Was the venue closed, or is the export incomplete?” That catches the commonest cause of broken forecasting.

Then three groups:

  • Auto-matched — name and price both line up. Usually the biggest group.
  • Needs review — close but not identical, or the price has drifted. Accept, swap, or push to unmatched.
  • Unmatched — discontinued dishes, one-off specials, modifiers Cirrus tracks separately. Match to an existing dish, create a new one from the row, or dismiss it permanently.

Good to know

  • One connector per location. Stand in the right venue, export that venue’s report, upload it there.
  • Next week remembers everything. Matches key on the Cirrus item code, not the name, so renaming a dish doesn’t break the link.
  • You can’t double-count. Re-uploading the same days overwrites; it never adds.
  • First setup is about ten minutes. Weekly uploads, about one.
