VAT and service charge

You set a number for VAT and a number for service charge. For each one, you say if your menu prices already include it. The cart adds it up for the guest before they order.

The rule

Nothing changes until you save this card. After you save, every order shows the same total: in the cart, in the WhatsApp message, and in your order list.

How it works

  1. Go to Menu → Menu Look.
  2. Open the VAT and service charge card.
  3. Type your VAT, for example 7. Pick Already in my prices or Added to the bill.
  4. Type your service charge, for example 10. Pick Already in my prices or Added to the bill.
  5. If the service charge is added, pick the orders it is for: Table orders, Pickup or Delivery.
  6. Look at the example. It shows what a guest sees for a ฿1,000 order. Then press Save.

For example, your carbonara is ฿200 and both are added to the bill. The guest sees ฿200, then service charge ฿20, then VAT ฿15.40. The total is ฿235.40.

If both are already in your prices, nothing is added. The cart shows ฿200 and one small line: “Includes Service charge 10%: ฿16.99, VAT 7%: ฿13.08”.

Good to know

  • Only the owner can change this card.
  • An added service charge is for table orders at first. You can turn it on for pickup and delivery.
  • The delivery fee has no VAT and no service charge on it.
  • In the EU, the price a guest sees must already include VAT. So an EU venue cannot pick Added to the bill for VAT.
  • This does not make a tax invoice for the guest.
