Priced by weight, sold by the pack

เนื้อหานี้ยังไม่มีในภาษาของคุณ

Cheese, cured meat and fish are often priced per kilo. What arrives is a packet. Both facts are true and the row has to hold both.

If there is no packet at all, use buying an ingredient loose instead.

The rule

Per kilo is a price. A packet is a pack. Describe the real pack first, then say the price is per kilo. Never change the pack to make the price fit.

How it works

  1. Set Physical form to what you pick up: a packet.
  2. Type the net weight inside it: 250 g.
  3. Set the recipe unit to how the kitchen uses it: g.
  4. Above the price, switch Priced per to per kg.
  5. Type the numbers exactly as the invoice prints them. ฿915 per kg list, ฿686.25 per kg on offer.

The card shows the answer back: ฿171.56 per packet, and under it ฿0.686 per g. That last number is what your recipes use.

Good to know

  • Choose per packet when one price buys the whole thing, like a ฿150 jar or a ฿1,000 case.
  • Choose per kg when the invoice quotes a weight.
  • The switch only shows on things you weigh. For things you count, like eggs, it stays hidden.
  • When the offer ends, open the row and change one number. No sums.
