How full an item is

A menu of two hundred items always has a few that were typed in a hurry — a name, a price, and nothing else. Our Menu now shows a small ring next to each item name, so you can find them at a glance.

The rule

The ring on the list is the same number the item editor shows. Fill something in, and both move together.

How it works

  1. Open Our Menu. A small ring sits next to each item name.
  2. The number inside is how much of the item is filled in, out of 100.
  3. The colour tells you how bad it is, without reading the number:
    • Red — under a third. Little more than a name.
    • Amber — under two thirds. Started, not finished.
    • Green — two thirds or more. Almost there.
  4. Rest your mouse on a ring to read what it counts.
  5. Click the row to open the item. The chips under the name say which parts are still empty. Fill one in, save, and the ring moves on its own.

The Grid view shows the same ring, next to the price on each card.

Good to know

  • Only what a guest or a search engine reads is counted. The name, the photo, both descriptions, the ingredients, the price, the category boxes and the two search fields.
  • Hidden and Sold out never count. Both answers are fine, so neither is a gap.
  • Suitable for never counts. A steak suits no diet, and it should not carry a red mark for ever.
  • A drink is not asked what is in it, so a wine has a shorter list than a pizza. Every item can reach the end of its own list.
  • The total changes with the section. A section with detail boxes adds one part per box, so two items in different sections can reach 100 from different lists.
