Writing your own prompt

A prompt is a set of standing instructions — “photograph this like a studio product shot”, “write the blurb in 25 words”. You get 125 ready-made ones. Write your own when something about your place is specific: a signature plate, a particular light, a way you always shoot pasta.
The rule: write the sentence you would say to a photographer standing in your kitchen. Leave blanks for the things that change from dish to dish.
How it works
- Open AI → Photos & prompts and press Write your own.
- Pick what it should do: Make a picture, Improve a photo, or Write words. This can’t be changed later, so a new one is cheaper than a wrong one.
- Pick the category. Every dish in it will offer this prompt.
- Write the instructions. Click any blank in the right-hand panel to copy it —
{{name}},{{description}}— and paste it in. - Read the grey box underneath. It shows your words with the blanks filled in by an example dish, exactly as the AI will receive them.
- Save. It appears alongside the ready-made ones, marked Yours.
Good to know
- Blanks are filled from the dish, not by you.
{{name}}becomes whatever dish someone pressed Generate on. - A misspelled blank stays visible. The preview box flags it in amber — the AI would otherwise read the braces out loud.
- Shape, size and look are starting points, not locks. Anyone can change them just before generating.
- Prompts that write words need no blanks. The dish and your house voice are handed over automatically; you only write the rules.
- Switch a prompt off to park it without deleting it. Archive hides it from everyone.
- You need permission to manage AI to write or edit one.
